Venice Architecture Biennale 2027 Fellowship Opportunity

The Venice Architecture Biennale is the world’s largest architecture exhibition. Exploring key themes in contemporary architecture, it attracts half a million visitors per year. The 20th edition will run from May to November 2027, directed by celebrated Chinese architects Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu.

We are delighted to announce that UCA is a British Council British Pavilion Partner for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2027, and are able to take part in its Venice Fellowship programme. The Venice Fellowships programme is an exceptional opportunity for creative individuals to spend a month in Venice during the world’s most important architecture biennial.

The Fellowship involves two main activities:

  • Exhibition Ambassador: Invigilating the British Pavilion exhibition, engaging with the public, and being the public face of the British Council and its 2027 commission.

Who can apply?

UCA is supporting up to two Fellowship places at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2027. These are open to students and permanent staff at UCA. Successful applicants can take part in the Fellowship between June and September 2027 and will also be required to take part in online inductions between February and April 2027.

Applicants can discuss draft applications with Cat Rossi.

Funding

Fellows receive £3,300 to help support the cost of self-organised travel, accommodation and living costs. Fellows are also eligible to apply for Access Support of up to £100 from UCA (please see the application form and discuss if needed).
